JM Smucker shares slide on mixed quarterly earnings, weak profit outlook

  • JM Smucker (NYSEJM) reported mixed results, including a year-over-year drop in sales, for the fiscal fourth quarter, sending its shares more than 13% lower in early trade on Tuesday.  The food brands company, known for Jif peanut butter, Folgers coffee, Hostess snack cakes and Uncrustables, reported Q4 revenue down 3% year-over-year at $2.14 billion, below Street estimates of $2.19 billion.
