  European officials say they're optimistic a trade deal can be reached with President Donald Trump, warning of significant economic harm to both Europe and the U.S. if it isn't. The European Union and U.S. are engaged in tense negotiations to try to reach a trade deal so that U.S. tariffs on EU goods announced by Trump, and EU countermeasures, can be avoided.
