Consumer confidence rebounds in July on lower inflation fears and higher stock prices

    The consumer-confidence index rose to 97.2 in July from a revised 95.2 in the prior month, the Conference Board said Tuesday. Confidence has stabilized after dropping to 85.7 in April.
