CONCORD, NH — Concord firefighters quickly knocked down a materials fire at a property management company and house on Loudon Road Wednesday night. Fire and rescue teams were sent to 296 Loudon Road for what was initially reported as a shed fire just before 9 p.m. Dispatch said several witnesses reported a large plume of smoke and fire was seen at the property. The fire commander confirmed “heavy fire and smoke” from an outbuilding on the property. Tom Cusano, the owner of the Stove Barn, is the owner of the property. According to sources online, a property management company is the only business located on the property. Firefighters ran a hose from a nearby fire hydrant and quickly extinguished the fire. “The building is gone,” the commander said. “We’re going to need PD up here to get this road shut down for us.” Several Concord police officers arrived at the scene and the eastbound side of Loudon Road was closed to traffic. Around 9:15 p.m., the fire was completely knocked down. Firefighters realized later it was a pile of materials, not a shed or another structure, that had been on fire. The fire prevention officer was then requested to the scene and firefighters began to clear. A Concord police officer noted later, as firefighters were clearing, two barrels of diesel had burned during the fire, but two barrels of gasoline, near the fire, did not burn, according to scanner chatter. Fire prevention cleared the scene at 10:30 p.m. A source told Patch arson is being eyed in the incident due to a homeless camp behind the property. Do you have a news tip?
