Atlantic Union Bankshares: Looking Cheap After The Sandy Spring Deal

  • While it has rallied strongly from its April lows, Atlantic Union Bankshares has still underperformed the broader banking space by a wide margin this year. Credit concerns may be partly to blame, with both Atlantic and Sandy Spring Bancorp, which Atlantic acquired earlier this year, sporting large commercial real estate concentration. Credit quality appeared to be holding up just fine here based on the most recent data we have. The bank's longer-term credit loss record also looks encouraging.
