Worker Falls To His Death From Roof Of CBSD Middle School

  • BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 58-year-old man who was working on the roof of the Holicong Middle School over the weekend died after he apparently tripped and fell 30 feet to the ground. Buckingham Township Police, EMS and the Bucks County Coroner's Office responded to the school just after 4 p.m. after receiving a 911 call. Jose Morales, of Adelphi, Maryland, was pronounced dead at 4:10 p.m. by the Bucks County Coroner's office. Following an autopsy, Bucks County Coroner Patti Campi ruled the death accidental and listed the cause as blunt impact injuries. According to the Central Bucks School District, Morales was working for the company handling roofing work at school. "It was a single-person accident," said district spokesperson Mike Petitti. "No district staff or students were involved, and there was no risk to school personnel or children. "The district shares our deepest sympathies with the individual's family," he said. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, an agency of the U.S. Department of Labor responsible for ensuring safe and healthful working conditions, was notified and is investigating the circumstances of the accident, according to the coroner's office.
